Welcome to Flotilla 5-12, 8th District Coastal Region, of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. We serve Lake Lavon and the communities of southeastern Collin County in north central Texas.
The Auxiliary was established
by Congress in 1939 to assist the Coast Guard in promoting boating safety.
It boasts more than 35,000 members who receive special training to support
a variety of Coast Guard missions. Auxiliarists assist the Coast Guard
in non-law enforcement programs such as public education, vessel safety
checks, safety patrols, search and rescue missions, maritime and inland
waterway security, and environmental protection. Where possible, we support
local law enforcement and emergency response professionals as well.
The Auxiliary offers a variety of ways to volunteer your time and talents in support of your country.
